For the second year in a row employees at Rochester, N.Y. based business financial solutions provider, UniLink, collected donations to support Bivona Child Advocacy Center’s upcoming holiday workshop, which helps more than 50 families get holiday gifts for children that might not otherwise receive anything.

Each of UniLink’s employees contributed to the fundraising effort, and in turn, UniLink matched the funds dollar for dollar.

“UniLink has a long history of significantly supporting Bivona since 2013,” says UniLink founder, Lou Fuchs. “As a company, we believe it is important to support our local community and people in need. Bivona is an incredibly important resource for the children and families in our community, and we are happy to be able to come together to continue to support those who have been affected by abuse and neglect.”

“It means so much to us to have the support of local businesses like UniLink,” said Deb Rosen, Executive Director at Bivona Child Advocacy Center. “We say it a lot, but it’s because it’s true — we literally couldn’t do the work we do in our community without support like this. Thank you, UniLink, for your continued support of Bivona and the work we do helping children and families affected by abuse.”

About Bivona Child Advocacy Center

Bivona Child Advocacy Center, a non-profit organization, is our region’s resource for child abuse investigation, education, and prevention. The statistics around child abuse are startling:

  • 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused by the age of 18.
  • Less than 10% of those children will disclose the abuse as a child.
  • Nationally, nearly five children die each day as a result of abuse or neglect.
  • Bivona Child Advocacy Center has evaluated more than 20,000 children since opening its doors in August 2004.
  • In 2018 alone, Bivona evaluated nearly 2,000 children.
  • 34% of children served are under the age of seven.
  • Almost half of all cases come from the suburbs.

Bivona is a safe, welcoming place where children who have been sexually or physically abused can begin their journey of healing to recovery. Through our Multidisciplinary Team approach, Bivona staff facilitates one-site collaboration of social and legal agencies to protect, treat, and counsel child abuse survivors and their caregivers, and to investigate and prosecute the abusers. Bivona provides a compassionate, efficient, cost-effective infrastructure for child abuse intervention.

Bivona has formal partnerships with 24 agencies to provide services to child abuse survivors and their families, including all law enforcement, legal, medical, and mental health resources.

Although Bivona receives government funding, the majority of its support comes from the community.  Bivona Child Advocacy Center is an accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance. Bivona Child Advocacy Center has become a resource to the community for all issues related to child sexual abuse.  For more information, please visit www.BivonaCAC.org
